W222
Hi, My 2014 seems to have developed a problem with the Air Conditioning.

On the digital display the checkbox for the aircon isn't ticked. And when I try to tick it it unticks straight away and doesn't cool the car down.

Anything easy to check?

TIA

Did you ever uncheck it?

Suggest it might be a leak in the condenser I had it on mine, not easy to check, suggest where ever you are to go to a car air con specialist they are about, they will leak test the system, and you can be sure they know what they are doing, they will but dye in the system to expose any leaks, they will be cheaper than other garages.

Thanks, I have managed to get it into a Halfords garage who are currently offering free Air Con diagnostics

Let us know how the Halfords guys sort your W222.
All sorted now. The gas was very slightly low so the sensor wouldn't let it turn on. They re-gassed and added a dye and its now working great. They were really good - Halfords Hemel Hempstead garage (not at the store)

If a rapid leak is suspected and the system is without UV-sensitive indicator, one way to find a possible leak is to look
for a greasy spot somewhere on the radiator. Since the gas circulates together with compressor oil, the oil gets out together with
the gas and dust from roads stick to the oil. Now, this was a W222 but other MB's like W212/C207 have a connection at the very
bottom of the radiator from the compressor. At this point, there is also a pressure- and a thermo sensor. The junction is held together
with ONE (!) M6 Steel Bolt (External Torx) and all other metal is aluminium... What happends is that corrosive (salty) water
from winter roads ends up in this junction, slowly penetrating past the rubber gasket. Then the leak is there.

I experienced this myself and in the process of repair, removing the M6 bolt was quite an adventure since it was stuck caused by corrosion
in the threads.
