I managed fix my lump running problem with a replacement injector but have since noticed two things. The first cold start in the morning is lumpy/shaking until I rev it or drive off with it and as soon as my temp goes above 80 degrees it feels slightly lumpy, like the fuelling is slightly out. Otehr than that it drives perfect.

Can someone tell me what the temp should sit at max, I thought it was not meant to go above 80 degrees??? I've almost had it 95 at one point!

Will the temp cause fuelling problems - the lumpiness?

82 is normal,95 def too high. Is there any sign of oil in the rad ? or water on the dipstick? Are you losing water ?

Definately not losing water, Don't think there is oil in the water either.

So from what I gather the temp should sit no further than the 80 or just slightly above it? I'm sure I read somewhere that the temp should normally sit at 90 but I'm not convinced

It should be 90c and 95c will be no problem. Have you checked for air leaks into the fuel hoses?

^ agreed. I replaced the stat in May, now it runs at 90. And averages over 40mpg on the M-way.And has never gone above this even on a long run in the summer.

checked for leaks in lines - no air bubbles. Have a star on order and will start going through the motions next week. I have my doubts on the exhaust valves!

I'm no expert on these engines at all but you might have a faulty temperature sensor - not the temperature gauge sensor but there may be sensors that monitor fuel rail temperature and engine water temperature that feed into the ECU that then determines optimum fuel ratios

just checked, it runs at 90 at max so i guess im ok. I'm a big fan of cdi engines bt when you get a problem boy do you get one!
