W246 audio speakers upgrade

Hi folks,

I don`t like the sound of the stock Audio 20 speakers. As the car has been bought as approved used, I didn`t have the opportunity to upgrade with HK Logic7 which has been only fitted in factory, as MB sale adviser assured me.

In that case, an audio upgrade is the only possibility. I am not interested in new wiring or connecting an amp,for example. At the moment, I am just thinking of changing the speakers - the midrange and the tweeters , so I was thinking something like :

Anyway, I am sure any other speakers above 60-80 GBP the pair will sound better.

Any ideas are appreciated.

I don't think you'll achieve much just changing the speakers. It needs to be a combination of speakers + new amp to get anywhere.

I would agree with sunnydude959.

If you had HK, you could at least change the speakers if you were happy with the volume and see - then add an amp/amps later if still not happy.

I have HK in mine, and whilst it is fine volume-wise, the sound shaping preset is awful and the speakers are a bit shyte too.

Needs work!
