W246 front badge removal

Hi

I have a B200 2018 (pre facelift). How do I get the front badge off so I can fit the Mercedes "Gun Sight" emblem? Not as easy as lifting the bonnet as it is not mounted on the bonnet, but on the front trim panel. Can't get my hand around it to release the badge sprung ears.

Don't know how to get your old badge off but don't assume the tristar will fit. I tried this on my CLS, where the badge is on the bonnet. There wasn't enough space to accommodate the safety folding gear.

Not sure about W246 (?) but it's probably three pin "push in" type, rather than locked from the bottom one?
Unless you can actually see the locking nut from below?

Best way to check is to see what EPC shows for your VIN ...

Bumper needs to come off to get underneath and push out the pins...

the tri star emblem will not just fit though...

I replaced my bonnet badge with a new black design - both are two-pin type - it wasn't that difficult to lift it up, certainly didn't have to get it from underneath (there's no access anyway).

A drop of hot glue, a little [improvised] puller and an old plastic card (to ease it off) is all I needed - took less than a couple of minutes, if that.
