Hi all,

Weird thing happening to me every time I start my 1992 W463 GWagon lately.

Firstly it shudders to a start and needs a good few pushes of the gas pedal to turn the engine. But the weird bit for me is that once the car does start, it revs very low at idle for about 10-15 seconds and the ABS warning light comes on. After about 10-15 seconds, the warning light goes away and you can then noticeably hear the revs come back up to a normal idle and everything works fine again. Strange?

I’ve had a few 124’s before as well as a w210 but never had this issue. Any ideas what it could be?

Also I noticed about a month ago, on a couple of occasions, that the driver side footwell had quite a bit of liquid that had built up (small puddle). I couldn’t tell if it was water or something leaking through the pedals – could this be related to the ABS issue? Or do I have a totally unrelated leak to worry about?!

Any help appreciated as always.
