W638 vito auto box woes

Hello all,

Vito 112cdi 2003 vintage with auto box. 120k miles... All drive suddenly gone. No nasty noises or sign of oil leaks. Oil was changed for pukka merc oil three years ago then the van sat used for a year. Driveshafts and lever linkage all seem intact.

Any likely causes to investigate?

Or is it a recon box job.

The auto gearbox in the W638 is not a Mercedes one. It has the ZF 4HP20 which was widely used in many other makes & models (Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, etc.):

Located in Northants.

Sounds like it may have been dragged by recovery while in Park!

Bummer! I only use Mackies Transmissions although they are based up here.. if you can get it on a pallet I'm happy to meet you mid flight and run it into them..
