W639 13 plate Vito wheel bearing

Hi all, I’m after a bit of advice regarding a wheel bearing replacement.

I went to a independent garage that specialise in German vehicles to have a wheel bearing replaced.

Unfortunately they weren’t able to replace it due to the tools required having gone missing.

I now have it booked in with the dealer as it needs doing asap.

Has anyone had this done by the dealer and is there an indication on cost? They are saying £97+ VAT labour.

Or can anyone recommend a garage in the bolton area that would carry this work out?

I only ask as I know there is a specialist tool to remove the bearing.

Must be a Mercedes commercial dealer in the area. When we had our Vito it never went anywhere else. Prices were reasonable they are of course dealing with commercial users who will not put up with high prices unlike users of the car dealers.

There is a commercial dealer. Unfortunately the prices are a lot higher than the independent I found. Just a shame they can’t put their hands on the tool to remove the bearing.
