W639 2013 Viano Avantgarde
Hi,
My 2013 Long Viano came with four single seat rails, and I would like to install a table so I decided to replace the two middle rails for double rails, to be able to install a standard table.
My main concern was carpet and chassis, but after removing one of the rails for inspection, I could see that everything was good to carry on.
Next some pictures.
Job is still ongoing, not completed yet.

Original single rail place.

Different view from original situation.

New double rail does not fit in single´s place.

I have to cut some carpet, exactly 6.5cm in my case.

After cut 6.5cm from top to bottom, already clean.

New double rail presented in his place. Perfect fit.

Will continue.

Have you got the threaded holes in the back for mounting the floor rails in?? Are the rails from a facelift Viano cause they are different in facelift & pre facelift

To be honest, I am a beginner on Mercedes Viano.
Mine is 2013 Viano Avantgarde, but it got four single rails.
Because I would like to install a table, I've bought double rails in ebay to replace the only two middle rails, where tables fit.
Threaded holes are exactly in the same place in my case. If I am not wrong, seven threaded holes per rail.
My original "single" rails are A6399504895 / ZGS007
(You can see them on ebay item 223704260781)

I need to check the reference for the "double rails" I am installing.

As you can see in the pictures, the only thing I had to do was to cut some carpet, to get the necessary wider space for double rails, nothing else.

I'm surprised a Viano has got 4 single rails if I'm honest!! Always under the impression the had the long rails as standard.. I know Traveliners have the single rails fitted..

My original rails (below picture) are around 1825mm long.
The rails I bought in ebay, the single rails are over 2000mm long, are longer than mine.
Later on I'll get a picture from both rails to see how the threaded holes are.

As you can see, there are four single rails in my Viano 2013.

I know Traveliners
Big un, quick question, different topic.
Do you know how fit/unfit armrest?
My Viano had originally two rows of 2+1 seats. I´ve sold the last row, then when I tried to move my first row backwards, I realized the armrests does not allow the row to go backwards. I need to remove the armrests.
I haven´t try yet, I will this weekend, but I hope is not difficult.
Just wondering if you, or anyone, can give me some advice.
Thanks

If they are like the pre facelift tehn pop the plastic cover on the outside of the arm rest, remove the allen head bolt, and manipulate the arm outward.

I am not sure what you meant "pre facelift", mine is W639.813 from 2013.
Yes, I saw the round plastic cover, so I´ll give a try, and let you know.
Thanks

There was a facelift of the 639 in 2006,
and again in 2010.
As far as I'm aware the earlier versions of the 2010 seats will be the same, I'm not familiar with all the changes post 2010 although from what I see the interior 'looks' the same.

I understand now, yes the later ones with the tables had wider tracks in the middle for the table.
There wasnt a facelift in 2006, the only one was in 2010!!
639 was realeased in 2003 they were galvanised from 2006. From 2010 they used Lima fabric on the seat instead of Matteo the internal panels were swapped to black, different cluster & they had different wing mirrors and front end including headlights. And they swapped to the 651 engine from the 646.

I've been checking the three rails I have, and as you can see in below picture, all three have same threaded holes layout;

The longest rail has around 20cm more but not extra holes.

I am not sure if replace my original rails (1st and 4th, not middle rails) from original 1825mm to longer 2025mm rails.
I meant, not sure what those 200mm (20cm) extra what could be use for.

Done.
Five minutes job. Easy.

Now I can already move the seats row backwards.

Thank you

Nice Van btw
Cheers.
Bought it just a couple of months ago.
That´s the reason I am now doing some changes...

Finally, job has been complete.
Both double rails have been successfully installed.

At same time, I have sold one 2+1 row of seats (I had two rows), and I bought two single "captain" seats (from a 2018 V-Class), my target.

Aa last step, I need to look for a table...

Last weekend I´ve got an original Merc folding table.
What a surprise when I see it does´t fit.
After some deep investigation, I found up to three different fitting systems !!
The table itself is the same one, but for some reasons they changed the bottom fittings, I understand that to fit to different rails ??

I got the second one and does not fit as it is.
This weekend I´ll try something... and let you know.

So is there a version of these tables that fit the single rails?

I've seen adverts for the Viano where, if you check the VIN, it was delivered with (at least 2) captain seats, and the table.
From that I assumed it would be kitted out with the double rails to accomodate.

You always need "double rails" for any table.
I guess there are different double rails versions to fit different tables. I meant, every table fits to a specific version of (double) rails.
This weekend I´ll check if I can fit the bottom table to my rails.

Thanks, as I'm looking around a replacement Viano that's handy info. Getting the incorrect table, as they rarely accompany a 2nd hand Viano, would be frustrating.

Then there are the coolers. Since they sit between the front 2 seats its fair to assume they just rest,no clipping down.
But I wonder if they are more often in need of regassing.
