W639 Vito split charge

Hi A,, I am converting my Vito into a camper. I am at present sorting out the split charge system and mains hook up. First question what is the best place to connect to the battery under the seat or under the bonnet, remembering that I am using 16mm cable and have to fit an inline fuse somewhere near the connection point. The other question is the best way through the bulk head for battery lead and the mains cable.

Split Charge

Hi!
You have probably long since done this, but this is how I did mine...
I just got a 'intelligent' split charge relay and fitted it to the inside of the passenger seat box.. keeping the cable run as short as possible.. the second battery I fitted under the drivers seat.. I have a decent kill switch to isolate and all auxiliary live feeds are independently fused from a dedicated fusebox.
