Searching for a pair of AMG Five Spoke Road Wheels 10JX16 et-12.7, commonly referred to as Pentas. Any assistance in locating a pair of these would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you d w124 for the recap. Yes you are correct, I did not agree with the asking price and nor has anyone else for that matter as they are still on the market. A seller can ask all he/she wants but an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

There are several sets that have come to market during my search, some cheap as chips and others overpriced.



There was a set purchased by a fellow member on Gumtree for 150 sterling. Cheaper than chips.

There was a set that was purchased by a fellow enthusiast from a tire/wheel dealer in AUS for $700. Cheap as chips.

There was a set listed and sold on yahoo.co.jp for 55,000 yen. Cheaper than chips.

There was a set in Texas that ended up being scrapped. A waste.

There was a set that a well known member purchased for 600 sterling. Cheap as chips.

The aforementioned set was listed by a fellow member for 2500 sterling. The set then required shipping and refinishing. Grossly overpriced.



So yes, they can be had for "cheap as chips" and yes, finding a bargain is always nice, though not a prerequisite d w124.

I'm willing to pay a fair market value for a set of these and IMHO the set of AMG Five Spoke Road Wheel in need of restoration/refinishing are:

16JX8 et0 $400-$800 usd
16JX8 et11 16JX9 et0 $800-$1200 usd
16JX9 et0; 16JX10 et-12.7 $1000-$1500 usd

So you if happen to know of a set that are fairly priced, do drop me a PM.

If I`m honest I`ve never seen a set for sale,as you know they`re rare
As for the other chap,he never had them advertised but only replied to you saying that he has on his garage that might sell
He also has plenty of other rare items that he does not put much effort into selling

I, better than most, know what they are worth, what they will sell for and know exactly how many examples have come to market during my search as noted above. Unfortunately I was a little late to the BBQ on the "cheap as chip" examples. Beyond that, I haven't come across a fairly priced set. Simple.

Ive got a set of the genuine AMG Widebody Penta alloys. They are:
9" x 16" et0
10" x 16 et-12.7

They are in need of refurbishment, and Ill have that done. So they will be in totally spotless condition with polished or diamond cut rims and silver centres. I can have the centres colour coded if required.

£2500 ono.

Those would be the UK manufactured, true to the name Pentas. Are they any good?...Personal preference really. The difference between the German AMG Five Spoke Road 8JX16 and the UK Penta 8JX16 is the UK wheel has a longer spoke by a 1/2 inch giving the appearance of a larger diameter wheel.

AMG Wide Body Five Spoke Road Wheels

Finally landed a set of these last summer. Sent them out TruWheel of North Hollywood for refinishing and turned out stunning. The lips are brushed and the very outer lip edge were finished off with a small period detail, color coded in 040 as the centers.

Have yet to wrap them in rubber, just enjoying the catch as they hang from the garage rafters...
