Wanted: electronic climate control

hi,

I am looking for the electronic/digital climate/heating control unit as fitted on e/clk class etc 1998 onwards.

anyone has one or know where to get a used one?

No...only the W202 and R129 SL...the 208 and 210 have dual zone controls...

I'm confused (easy I know ) Steve, are you saying that a W202 with climate control can only adjust an overall temperature within the car and can't split the car into left and right zones? Or is it a case of how the controls are laid out and there is a separate left/right toggle switch to change left and right temps independently. I'm guessing it must be the latter.

Nope, with the w202 it is only one temperature for the car with climate control. It is NOT dual-zone!

I believe Steve mentioned someone was trying to install w210 dual-zone climate into a w202 that was only equiped with aircon. That would be an interesting mod

Weird... so if you go for the full climate control you can't have split left & right zones like the 'bog standard' A/C... How odd, climate doesn't seem like such a spangly upgrade after all. That would be a very interesting mod if a W210 controller could be grafted into a W202.

Upgrading to climate is more than the controller, it is a different heater matrix, some sensors, vacuum hoses and valves. I think it is just as much work to fit w202 climate to a w202 without as it is to fit w210 climate. Might as well fit the one with the most toys

well...as far as underdash parts go...the 208 ones are a closer match...

Personally I prefer the one temp for all setting instead of the split temp settings in a closed space where you can stretch your arms and reach all boundaries I have always been wondering how split splt actually can be in such a small cabin.

The layout is the same as the one you have pictured so its just down to the numbers matching now.

yes infact it does need to be the one with the dual temp controls and not like the photo i showed....sorry, but thanks for your offer anyway.
