Engine Wiring Harness - Loom for W124 1992 500E

Didn't know the looms on these were vulnerable. Thought it was only the HFM engines?

Unfortunately, its a well experienced issue on the 500e because the engines run so hot. The harness was never manufactured well enough to withstand the prolonged high temps.

Gonna be an expensive job, but no expense spared as they say!!

I am sure the loom is MB only.

You could get a specialist motorsport loom maker to knock one up for you. It could be cheaper??

I'll echo what the 2 chaps above have said.

It really isn't worth messing about. Also, i've only ever heard of the upper wiring harness having problems, I believe this was about £300?

When I was researching the 500E, i remember the whole loom being around £500 or thereabouts.. fitting is not an insignificant job though..
