Righto , due to the lack of W124 500E that are priced in my budget I have decided on an R129 SL500 for the summer and my annual trip to Race de Remparts in SW France and maybe more.
I would like an M119 engined one with a hardtop , no high milers and bags of history , what have you got?

Paul

Check out Four Star Classics, they have two M119 500's that look very nice and good value for money.

I saw those ,I like the Azurite blue one but the fact that its a Hong Kong car put me off , should I be? Its a good price for relatively low miles.
I prefer the one at Hofmans but its a chunk more wedge..

No it certainly wouldn't put me off the car if it all checks out!
The black example at Hofmanns looks lovely, especially in black but I think it's overpriced.
I remember the car for sale a few years ago at around half the price! (Pretty certain it's the same car).

The black one is nice but lacks heated seats and has a problem with the drivers seat, possibly a bad repair for the headrest ??
Has been on sale for a while now, yup, think it is over priced too.

Good luck with your search.

Nothing wrong with the M113 24 valve engine, a few less bhp but well proven, and maybe more to choose from.

Nice :thumb:

Must be quite a late pre-facelift on an ‘S’ plate? Pano roof too

And you got your M119 :)

Looks great. Please post some more pics up when you get a chance.

It should be an R plate , it had a personalised plate on it before . I think the DVLA read date of registration the American way as it was first registered 12/02 ..

Okay, yes that’s weird - I just checked on the MOT site and it shows the date of registration as 12th February 1998.

S-registrations weren’t in use until August 1998, so definitely doesn’t make sense!

On my old CLK55 the DVLA listed the engine capacity as 54 litres so I guess some stuff does slip through the net! :)

Nice car though all the same

That looks lovely! Would be my choice too, facelift with the 5 speed gearbox and M119.

I have a 1992 one for sale soon. Its in great condition and It only has 72k on it. I specialise in 129's btw.
