Now the weather's warmed up a little bit I see that my C270 CDI is using a lot less fuel.

Amazing difference: up to 33% better off when the temp's up past 12 degees than when we are experiencing zero and sub-zero.

With Gadaffi's civil war (supposedly) pushing up oil prices, the warmer weather's good to see !!

I noticed the same thing last year, more fuel used when the weather was colder. I've put a new thermostat in now though so it doesn't make any difference what the outside temperature is, it's doing the same to the gallon hot or cold.

Yes my fuel usage went through the roof when it was sub-zero temps. The engine temp never went above 65C, its better now that its warmer outside so I guess I should replace the thermostat.
