Hi All

I have a 1990 US Spec 300SL (R129) and have a niggling issue which is driving me mad.

When I start the car, a "Warning Beeper" goes off and continues for about
1 minute. it then stops for about 30 minutes then starts again .... I think it's coming from the passenger seat area. I'm not sure if it's a seat belt warning or a warning that the seat back is too close to the rear of the car (sorry I'm non-technical).

Can someone tell me what this is? And more importantly, how I can disable it.

Thanks

The 129 will beep at you if it believes the seat back isn't properly locked in position. Should be accompanied by an illuminated seat/belt symbol on the dash.

Thanks ....that's right the S/B light does flash but how do I get to the sensor to check it out?

Assuming it is not just a case of unlatching and locking the seats back in place firmly (which is usually what sets this off), then you're into disassembling the seat panels to get into the locking mechanism.

There are videos online that guide you through this.
