My car is E200 K (W210). Sometimes both the BAS/ESP and ABS warning lights on in amber colour and once I stopped the enginer the lights just went off. Then after few days or weeks these lights came on again. Can anyone here help me figure out what the problem is? Many thanks!

Btw, anyone can recommend an independent garage based in nottingham area?

Its likely to be the sensor itself which is faulty....the W210's have a history of showing up duff BAS/ESP warnings for no good reason.

I had mine replaced under warranty and colleagues of mine running similar models and also W203's all suffered from the same problem.

Mine used to come on when I went through a puddle or hit a bump in the road.....very annoying at the time.

Your local dealer should know all about this problem!

Thanks a lot! I'm going to silver star in Rothley next week. But do you think I have to do a computer diagnosis or can skip it with direct replacement of sensors?

there are LOTS of sensors - you want them to guess which ones? plug the pooter in - its very quick and easy...

Alternator output needs to be checked. Have you have any battery charge lights come on or had to turn over engine a lot recently? Low voltage causes the BAS to register a fault code and it requires a minimum voltage (well actually current but you know what I mean). Not that this is much use for you in Nottingham but the independent I use in Ipswich Suffolk is very good, and can read all MB codes. See:

I hope this helps.
