Hi All Detailed my car today took 8 hours. Used the following :

Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash
" " Easy Clay
" " Orbital Polisher
" " 2 x Polishing velcro pads 2 x finishing velcro pads
" " step 1 - Deep crystal paint cleaner
" " Step 2 - Deep crystal Polish
" " step 3 - Deep crystal carnauba wax
2 coats of Auto Glym Extra Gloss Protection

As you can see i rate Meguiars products on my black car, plus when taking the pics i wanted to see how my new smoked tailights which i sprayed a couple of days ago would look in evening light. Click on pics to enlarge and enjoy my hard work.

Excellent job there tudu

Black looks so good freshly cleaned and polished!

P.S. I'm liking the c/f headlight surrounds, they fill that massive gap around the lights very neatly :)

Looks really good!!!!

Only thing I suggest is clean up the wheel arches and dress both the arches and the tyres - The black will really stand out...

Those are the CF rings. You could always spray chrome ones silver to match colour of car? i would do, then thats me.

Thats what i thought, only a pointer but the egp will not bond to the wax i'm afraid, it will remove the wax or simply fall away in the next wash.

A better bet would be your routine, minus the step 3 wax, put the egp on and then put a better wax on top of that, the step 3 is very poor, try to get some #16 megs, that is a very good wax indeed.

Just trying to help out a little and save some graft mate;)

Thanks. Wheels are Kleemann TS-7s 18 x 8s, not to everyones taste but as my car is Kleemann based seemed sensible to purchase Kleemann wheels plus think i am the only C Class in UK with them on, and had i fitted AMG wheels (which i still have) would not have looked right.

Thanks. Interesting, i have used this system for the last 3 years detail twice a year, and never had problems before. The EGP is exactly as it says it is thin coats layed on top of the wax (not rubbed in) left to dry and then lightly buffed with microfibre cloth. I can't say i have experienced any problems with removing the wax, neither has the EGP fallen away in the next wash in fact, it keeps the gloss appearance well throughout the year and i notice when its time to re-do. When raining it justs beads on the surface of the car, so if there was no protection ie wax or EGP my car would loose its shine after every wash, which is not the case.

I am not a detailing expert, but have used this and other systems and this one seems to work best for me. Wax is excellent for protecting paint surface, EGP just gives the surface that extra gloss appearance and protection, which on my black car does it justice. I have never tried wax over EGP but might be willing to try it next time round.
