I have a load of supaguard stuff from a previous car but found it hard work to even get a moderate finish. It's a bit old now so I'm looking for some decent stuff to valet my car. I like autoglym especially the glass cutter (not on the door seals or panels though!). Anyone have any other suggestions or recommendations?

Try turtle wax platinum series precision car wax, contains carnauba, excellent stuff.

Personally i would use stuff from Meguiars. I use it regularly on mine, its easy to use, gives a lovely finish and it smells nice too![/IMG]

This is how mine came up after a 3500 mile trip to Italy and back with Meguiars Gold class shampoo and Gold polish.

I think Autoglym gives a very agreeable finish. My suggestion would be to polish with Autoglym super resin polish and then apply Extra Gloss protection, or their high definition wax on top for added protection. If you want a single stage product which is a polish with some protection you could get some Autoglym Ultra deep shine. I tend to use super resin polish followed by Collinite 476s, which gives a lovely finish in my view.

For dark colours I am finding Blackfire wet diamond sealant very good. Don't get me wrong it is pricey and doesn't get used on the wifes car. But a little goes a long way and it lasts a long time while leaving the paintwork super slippery!

If you go to Detailing World they have lots of suggestions.

Thanks people. I will give all those products a google. The problem is I don't have anywhere to wash my car except on an A road outside my house so can't spend hours polishing unless I get a Sunday morning at work ( twice a year!). At the sametime I want the car to have a nice finish and keep the muck off for a bit. The car washing world has come a long way since I used to wash my mums vauxhall chevette with warm water and fairly liquid

Fairy liquid was then recognised as an effective car wash but time has told it is now quite destructive! Isnt there a hand car wash near you ? They seem to be sprouting up everywhere else where theres a disused petrol station.

Simon I am interested in some of the items you have for sale? what do you still have?

Do you use a hose, or no access?

Busy A road in a touristy village. Nearly had my spine ripped out a few times by people too busy looking at the village rather than watching how close they are driving to parked cars. The road is plenty wide enough for a parked car and two artics to pass. Going to have to borrow the mother in laws drive way.

+1 for the the SRP and especially the High Definition Wax (£££)

If you have dark coloured paint then the Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine works well after the SRP. For bumpers and plastic the Autoglym Bumper Care does it well.
