i need some advise on a bosch wta 2000 tumble dryer, when switched on the timer runs, the elements get warm but the drum dont turn, ive checked the belt thats ok .
the motor is a brushless motor on the side of the motor there is a condenser or start capaciter with live and neutral going in and the same coming out then feeding the motor.
there are 3 wires feeding the motor red, black and yellow why 3 wires?
any help anyone

after reading up on a site posted by wemorgon it turns out its a stepper motor with a start capacitor on the side,to test it if i spin the drum by hand after shorting out the front door safety switch it runs fine, but when i put washing in the drum and do the same it runs for say 10 seconds then stops.is it the motor or the start capacitor

I'd suspect the capacitor. A very common fault and easy fix.

as above when mine went it was the start capacitor

again the forum comes up trumps
cheers all

And here's somewhere you can order a replacement from.

there are loads of pattern units on the net from £5
