How long would it be advisable to wait after having bodywork done to wash/machine polish/ceramic coat the paintwork?

regards

As no-one's answered I'll try a suggestion.

Washing should be fine more or less straight after the paint has been applied, as for polishing there are a few variables to take into account. If it was a oven baked finish then it should be OK within a few days, a solvent based paint quite a bit longer.

Personally I'd have a quick word with the guy who painted it as he's going to be the one who knows. :)

If it’s been in a body shop they would have had to machine polish and clean the car before giving it back to you. Paintwork should be fine, just don’t stay on a spot for to long.

you can't seal, wax or add a ceramic coating on new paint for at least 4/6weeks otherwise it can cause vapour lock.
