Water Baffle

This is the plastic water catcher just in front of the windscreen. Can anyone tell me how the ****** does it come off?

I need to remove the fuse box beside the front battery. In order to do this I've had to remove the battery, it's tray and now the air intake - but the water baffle is in the way. The instructions I can find on this indicate that the intake can be removed with the baffle in place, but AFAICT, that's impossible in my car. So I've removed the wipers and released a clip from under the rubber seal. In theory it should simply now be removable. However, I've pushed and pulled so hard that I'm pulling the car along the floor and now my fingers hurt. But the damned baffle has simply not budged.

Apparently it's 'clipped to the bottom of the windscreen' which means I daren't pull it any harder and certainly not try to pry it off with anything hard for fear of damaging the screen. Of course, it may not actually be possible to damage the screen, but I've no idea of how it is attached so not willing to take the risk. Which leaves me stuck. :(

Can anyone please tell me exactly how this baffle is affixed in place and how to remove it?

OK, problem solved and I have the water baffle off - finally.

It needs to be pulled away in a perpendicular direction from the screen. There's a lip that runs along the underside of the baffle and that pushes down into a slot in a moulding that runs along the lower edge of the screen. Easy when you know how.

Sadly, I only discovered all this having pulled it hard enough forward, in the direction of the screen to rip that pathetically small and weak lip from the underside of the baffle. So now I need to buy a new baffle. Brilliant.

I think I'll leave the car for a few days and go hunting MB designers with something painful, in the hope that will appease my anger.
