Hi all
i have an 2005 E320 CDI which when i close the boot lid i can hear water sloshing about. It sounds like it is behind the number plate. Has anyone come accross this before or know where the water is getting in. I can't see any signs where it is gaining entry. Need to get this sorted before the brake light in the boot lid starts to short out

I have same issue. I believe it's coming in through high level break light. I will strip and re seal it in the summer.

I had the same problem with my old CLK (208).

Water was getting in passed one of the rear light clusters.

I replaced the cluster, fitted another foam seal, all sorts, but couldn't stop it happening.

The car was parked outside, as I didn't have a garage then, and my drive is sloped, which encouraged water to run down the rear lights more.

To solve it, I resorted to using clear bathroom sealant round the cluster. Proper dellboy but it was all I could do. :(
