Water pump recall S212 E350?

I collected my car after its A Service today to be told they'd changed the water pump. I hadn't received a recall letter, but the service guy advised that as its chassis number was 'close enough' to the affected batch they'd done it as a precaution.

Early days in my MB experience, so I thought I'd ask if this was normal? I used to have to tell Audi when I wanted things done...

Sounds about right, they usually do send a letter out or if they're really good they'll call you up if there are any recall jobs to be done.

The SLK I had didn't have it's wiring loom recall done by the previous owner but my dealership picked up on it at service time and got it done for me.
