On the look out for a reasonably priced wax and sealant for white paintwork. I tried simonize Wax with carnuba but it simply lies on the paint and I can't get it back off, it's more like boot polish , in the sun it looks terrible . So need something, easy on easy off that's long lasting and good .

Thinking poorboys world, white diamond ,followed by their ex-p sealant .

What do other white car owners use ??

The colour of the paintwork really shouldn't make a difference to how a wax performs, just the finish is less obvious on white.
I use Meguiar's Xpress wax, just spray on and wipe off. Can even be applied to a wet car (say after rinsing off wash suds) helps dry streak free. Can even be applied in direct sunlight. Totally effortless

I used Poorboys White Diamond on my white W205, excellent results. Easy on and off after about 5 - 10 minutes.
Isn't white diamond just a glaze (like Black hole, which is typically used on darker colours)? If so it'll need sealing in with something.

You can layer a sealant over the top of Black hole/white diamond. I'm going to try Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection (EGP) over black hole soon on a red Alfa. EGP is really easy to apply and then buff off, provided you put it on really thin coats.

Another Autoglym product I've had good experience with is Ceramic spray. Easy to put on and buff off and lasted for months on our Diamond Silver C Class. I've got some fancier waxes and polishes, but sometimes I'm reminded that Autoglym stuff isn't as bad as the detailing crowd might have you think...

Egp sounds decent. £12 for 500 MLS is a great price also.

£12 is good for 500mL as I paid about £10 for the 375mL bottle not long ago. I already had a really old bottle and used it on my son's Fiesta last year after I machine polished it and the beading effect lasted ages on it. Just don't ladle it on otherwise it can be hard to get off...treat it like it costs £200 a bottle. :) Some put a spray nozzle on the bottle or decant it into another bottle with a spray head to help keep it minimal. Less is more as they say. :)

This was our C Class after I used it last year:

I like the result with Collinite, but find it harder work to apply (or more accurately, remove) than the Finish Kare 'Pink' I'm currently using.
This is what I found with the simonize Wax , it just moved about , it didn't dry to a buff off haze .

Entirely depends on what you're expecting from it in terms of longevity and whether you're prepared to do the prep.

If you're not polishing the car or decontaminating it beforehand, it won't make a massive difference to the look unless its loaded with silicone.

Assuming that you dont want to polish or decontaminate - my top three would be Sonax BSD, DetailedOnline Si02 gloss detailer or DetailedOnline nano sealant if wanting a spray / rinse product

I do all of the above . So ?

Okay, so if youre doing the polishing / decontamination you really need a ceramic coating on top. Something like Infinity Wax synergy lite which is very easy to use but lasts about 1 year or something longer lasting like Pyramid Car Care coating. The have a lot of gloss so should give a glass like look.

Having said that, most of the look is in the polishing stage. The top layer is mainly for protection rather than look as such

Lots of great products out there. I have switched back from AvalonKing ceramic DIY coating to good old carnauba wax, Colinite. Had the tin over a decade, it never seems to finish 👍

I do like the look of that infinity wax spray . Anything that lasts a year has to be good . I treat myself to a couple of autoglym products for now . I'll see how they perform. I do like autoglym products, they all seem reasonable prices and do what they say they do. Screenshot_20230925-115434-951.png

Fusso Coat Soft 99 do wax for light colour cars and dark, the white tin is for light cars, doh! It ain’t cheap but it can last 12 months at a time, I have used it, and it is well worth it, I got it after watching this guy on the forensic detailing channel. Clicky clicky

Only one of many I subscribe to, Chris Fix is another good one, as many will know (the man with the blue gloves)
