I have a caravan by the sea in Dumfries and the Merc will spend a lot of time parked down by the sea...

I had a 406 before the Merc which on its last MOT was riddled with corrosion underneath..

Put up a metal storage container and 1 year later is completely rusty even though it has a 10 yr Gtee. against corrosion:eek:.

I am worried about my S204 going the same way in the corrosive air that is there is there any product that can help prevent this onslaught from the sea...

Last year I just kept regularly washing it underneath

Any other products like Waxoyl anyone would recommend Thanks

There is a very recent thread discussing waxoyl and other such an this thread there is a product used on the rigs in the North Sea and available to buy retail. Can't remember the thread but it was in the last seven days……a search should find it.

Edit: It MAY be Charles Morgan's restoration thread………his car, not him because he has worn quite well. Allegedly and reportedly…………..I will stop digging now.

The north sea stuff was Aquasteel. Just used it on my Jeep, seems very strong in how it converted rust into 'not-rust' (not sure exactly what it converts it into). Cured into a very tough black surface, that I've now painted over.
My C43 needs a pile of rust work. Once the welding, Aquasteeling and Hammeriting is done, I'll be getting it professionally Waxoyled.
