My W124 E 220's power steering pump needs a re-build and my car does not have SLS suspension. But I have access to a new tandem pump, I am planning to use it instead of re-building my old steering pump. What are possible ways to disable or block the pressure oil ( SLS ) pump. Below are the details and pictures I have collected.

The pressure oil pump is fed with SLS oil from a reservoir and pressurized oil exit the outlet.

Thank you

Take the shear pin - number 8 in your sectioned view - out, and then, the SLS pump is no longer driven, make sure there's a bit of oil in the SLS pump to allow the shaft to run and not sieze up, and then you can safely block the inlet and outlet for the SLS part of the tandem pump.
