I have just bought an S500 convertible 2017. I think it’s WD217. The passenger airbag was disabled by the previous owner and I’m trying to locate the switch to turn it back on. Any help appreciated

Not sure there is a switch on Mercedes.
On a couple of other models I have found the switch at the end of the dashboard revealed when opening the passenger door.

Are you sure that it's been switched off manually?

The older cars did have a key-operated switch but I thought all the newer ones had automatic monitoring, with an orange 'passenger airbag deactivated' message illuminating when the passenger seat is not in use. That's how mine works, if not all of them now, however, it's not an S-Coupé so I can't be certain.

Hi, I thought the same but it doesn't change when I have a passenger. Seems a pretty backward indication though

It should be in the handbook.

If you don't have one, this link might help, see pages 40 - 44. It would appear to be automatic, as per my previous post, in which case you might need to have a Star diagnostic check.
