It is snowing outside, about an inch so far. Cannot remember snow so early as this as we do not get much being surrounded by the sea.

I blame it on the failure of the Warm Gulf Stream and Global Warming.

Photos please ! :)

Ignore, just a test.

Oops! it worked. Picture taken 1/2 hour ago.

note to myself: don't go to Shetlands without checking the weather.

Cheers!

I don't think it's the Gulf Stream, but the altering of the wind patterns due to El Nino causing the pressure zones to be further south, so we are now getting northerly winds instead of southerly ones.

You'll know when the Gulf Stream stops...so will life as we know it..

Wow.......

Off to Spain in a weeks time....praying for the golden globe to shine..

A summer scene of Shetland ponies ( better than looking at snow)..

Note to chris: There is only one Shetland which has many islands so it should be called The Shetland Isles.;)

Man , i wanna live in the Shetlands !!

One of the chaps at London Coastguard used to be based in Shetland , he's got a few stories i can tell you !!

could do with some good snow this year

When I went up to the Shetlands the roads were beautifully surfaced.
Happy time drving through to Yell and Unst in my Corrado.

 how do you spot the sheep in the snow & do you round them up on a wee pony

Darn sun came out later in the afternoon, so snow nearly all gone. Must have been that El nino on the move.

Can recall snow in June back in '87.

I was planning to take my bike over the Lecht that day. Decided not to because of rain and went south via Aviemore and gave up by the time I go there because it was sleeting. There was light snow at Drumochter and heavy snow at Braemar. Nearest I ever got to suffering hypothermia on the bike - and it was in summer! And I was well used to riding in winter.
