Had a very serious hail storm on Saturday afternoon, hail stones around the size of big marbles.

So now the CLS is covered in dents on the bonnet, roof and boot

They are very small but annoying, I know they are there although many will not spot them anyone got any bright ideas?

I know the insurance will say an act of god is not covered and it will hike my premium next year.

fekkin weather.....

Sorry, I will try to be helpful :D by suggesting you could contact one of the specialist 'Dent' removal companies around.

Believe a forum member is one of these....

Thanks, (I think!)

I was thinking of these smart dent removal guys, but how on earth would they get behind the roof dents? and to be honest I don't really want then stripping the roof lining or painting the car.

It's got to be worth getting them round for a look and possible quote

It may be worth checking your insurance policy as you could be covered. The same thing happened to my parents caravan a few years ago and the insurance company paid out for a new roof to be fitted.

The words 'cake' and 'eat it' come to mind.
Use a reputable firm, and you won't even know how they did it.
If the roof lining needs to come out, then it needs to come out. It's not disposable ;)
Doesn't sound like you'll need paint.

Bad luck. I've just had a dent removed from my bonnet and was lucky. The guy said that if the dent had been above one of the struts he may not have been able to do it. Let us all know the outcome because the roof question is one I am interesting in.

This happened to my FIL many years ago and his Rover SD1 (I did say it was a long time ago!) was a right mess. Insurance covered it but the hummed and harred about writing it off.

I think it's because of this sort of thing that mobile dent removal exists - apparently they have teams of guys in the US who fly in to affected areas to repair cars on dealers lots that have been damaged by hail.

Should not be an 'Act of God'. I believe that this rearely exists - if the weather can be predicted it should be covered.

Dent removal specialist can sort out the roof withoutremoving your lining and hopefully without the need for new paintwork. They use a magnetic induction tool or something like it. It straightens or irons out the imperfection to match the immediate surrounding area. Not cheap though

If you have fully comp cover then you should be able to claim on your insurance, the only issue would be that as the insurance company would not be able to recover the claim from God ( or any other deity for that matter) it would count as a "your fault" clim and would affect your no-claim bonus.

But still probably worth claiming as the car may well be a write-off.
