Weekend Motor car

Indeed I agree with your statement here. Its just too useable for everyday purpose, but with a big V8 that drinks far too much to make it useable everyday.

Its almost like the car has an identity crisis, but its brilliant none-the-less, And the handling will not fail to amaze for sure.

Yep, my mpg never went over 18 and I didn't hoof it that much.

Is an M5 any bigger than say an SL (230 or 129) which many use as a weekend car? Its a cracking car whatever.
It's 25 cm longer than an R230, and 31 cm (just over a foot) longer than an R129.

I agree it's a cracking car.

Interesting replies but size matters at 6ft 6 and 18 stone something like an M3 feels like a shoe box. A E55 would also come into the equation but not at the sort of money the beemer will go for so we will have to wait and see. The E 270 CDi will still be the daily driver.

I adore the M5, the only thing that would stop me buying one if i was searching, would be no history, if you know of the cars treatment/servicing then get it snapped up, their may well come a time when we are taxed beyond beleif to even consider buying one of these monsters..let alone owning one.
*** will vouch for me saying...i craved a v8 for nearly 2 years....i now can't justify the purchase due to fuel prices(we are already a 2 car family) and i do too many miles to allow my dream...

Post some pics when you get it :D

Get it! It is a cracking motor! Who cares how many doors it has! It still is a 400hp rear drive brute! Get an eisenmann exhaust on it. Makes it sound like a Nascar! One day I shall be getting one in the spec I want! Just not yet!
