Not my personal weight that is, but the amount of surplus kit (I would say junk but it all has a use) floating around in the car. I cleared out all my cleaning stuff, spare washer fluid, spare oil, roof bars, walking boots, child seat (the cabinet is now usable for hiding things), bulbs, de-icer, etc etc.

Weighed it all, and the grand total was 38kg. Add in my personal weight loss over the year, and that is close to 75kg, about one person in weight less being carried on a journey.

Certainly all adds up, and if I were to run the tank with only half full (frankly only for long journeys would this be an unwise strategy, ditto the washer bottle), then I reckon I could squeeze up to a 100kg saving on most journeys. Most new car designers would sweat their backsides off for even a tenth of that saving.

Time for a refreshed diet too.

So you've lost nearly 6 stone in year ??

Well done !

Not so much weight lost as mislaid. I appear to have found 3kgs of it this month, I fear....

In my boot

1x double douvet
2x pillows
2x sleeping backs
1x 5l screen wash
1x manfrotto tripod
1x bag with snacks (crisps, sweets)
1x spare wheel
2x sets of spare regi plates
1x 3 man tent
3x hats
1x millers diesel eco max bottle
1x tool kit
2x warning triangles
1x bottle of aftershave (in the unlikely event I have a date)
1x overnight bag with 2x pairs of jeans 3x T shirts, 1x spare shoes 5x underwear + shorts and full toiletries

Well, whats the point of having a big car and not carrying around junk with you

Ive had some experiences with keeping snacks in the car, you may well find it attracts rodents... Be careful!

Remind us what line of work you are in again, Steve?

Or - is this your strategy to keep your licence points down?

:D

Hahaha, I have the original plates for the car, then MB Hull made up plates for my cherished plate but forgot the GB euro identifier so asked them to make up GB plates. I have the DY55 *** plate, my own plates minus GB in the boot
