Not my personal weight that is, but the amount of surplus kit (I would say junk but it all has a use) floating around in the car. I cleared out all my cleaning stuff, spare washer fluid, spare oil, roof bars, walking boots, child seat (the cabinet is now usable for hiding things), bulbs, de-icer, etc etc.
Weighed it all, and the grand total was 38kg. Add in my personal weight loss over the year, and that is close to 75kg, about one person in weight less being carried on a journey.
Certainly all adds up, and if I were to run the tank with only half full (frankly only for long journeys would this be an unwise strategy, ditto the washer bottle), then I reckon I could squeeze up to a 100kg saving on most journeys. Most new car designers would sweat their backsides off for even a tenth of that saving.
Time for a refreshed diet too.
