My mercedes C220 CDI 1999 what is this pipe it is sittin under the bumper on the driver side and sometimes i drive the car then bout 10 mins i stop and park the car it blows smoke out of it and when there is no smoke but blow alot of air out aswel:mad:

I would have said exhaust but if its right at the front under the drivers side of the bumper im not so sure that it would be this.

Would want to get to a garage to get it looked at asap if its bellowing out smoke impairing your vision.

I think this is the exhaust from an auxilliary heater. The smoke is actually steam from its exhaust. It burns a little fuel directly to provide heat before the diesel engine warms up. The new efficient diesels take along time to warm up from cold. If its that there's nothing to worry about.

If it is that then i dont think he should be running the aux heater whilst driving right? Its not advised and leaves some fumes in the cabin does it not?

If the device is operating correctly no dangerous fumes will enter the passenger cabin . Its best described as a heater booster unit and helps heat the engine coolant not the cabin air directly.
