Just got my new car and been messing around with a USB stick.

I'm using an iMAC / iTunes and have my music ripped as ALAC files.

I've made 320kps MP3 copies of an album's tracks and moved them into the root directory of the USB stick (8GB SanDisk Cruzer formatted as FAT32 in Disk Utility).

When I connect the stick into the USB port, the Audio 20 finds the files without a problem but also displays a hidden file (prefix ._) for each of the MP3 tracks. Song / album title and album art display without any problems.

Has anyone experienced similar ? Any workarounds / ideas ?

'Tis an Apple-ism. Look at the USB stick contents on a Windows machine and you'll see the prefixed file names too. Easy to delete them on Windows, not sure if they're visible on a Mac.

I can see them on the Mac using a programme.

The I have is that they appear on the Audio 20 as part of the track listing. That's a pest !

OK, just delete them.

Edit Hmm... Having just moused around a bit, it seems that may not be an option in a Mac environment. This looks like a useful article that offers a couple of approaches that may be helpful.
