Weistec CNC Ported Heads

Apologies if this has been discussed before but i was just wondering if anybody has any real world experience or knowledge of the ported heads from Weistec for the M156?

Seems like a decent modification if the gains quoted are to be believed!?

Don't think anyone has done it in the UK yet.....but good reviews on USA forums.

good point! I'm not at the supercharger stage yet. I'm trying to build up before taking the plunge.

Totally different engine but I'm running a ported and polished head on my M111 it made a massive amount of difference and one of the best mods I have ever done. That coupled with the Brabus tuning pack smaller sc pulley etc made it a very nice car, not in the same league as you guys power wise but very useable

how much work was involved in doing it?

Not really sure how much work was involved I had it done as part of a package. I shipped them a bare cylinder head they ported polished it supplied and fitted new higher lift cams and valves etc.

It did take them a while but I wasn't in a rush and they were doing it at mates rates so couldn't be too pushy but even at mates rates it was pretty pricey but what a piece of engineering excellence.

Cylinder heads for my CL55 have been polished and ported by hand locally. Took about 2 months and cost £1500+VAT. Was two years back when Weistec's CNC program wasn't available. I'd be tempted to send them a spare set of 55 heads as I'm going with bigger valves this time and they have just finished my engine but it's still double of what I paid for essentially the same job. International shipping is on top and these aren't particularly lightweight parts. I'd say if you're going to get a blower from them at some stage or considering an engine build with them, ask for a discount on the heads. Otherwise it's a local specialist job for half the money.
