New it was too good to be true! I've noticed that some of the finish on the edges of the "spokes" on my alloy wheels appears to be lifting or bubbling. Only minor at the moment but for a 6 month old car it doesn't bode well.

I'll take them to the dealers for warranty, no doubt they will want to repair them - have I a case for insisting on replacement?

Anybody else suffered the same? Never happened on my BMW's even after a few years

Not sure what "model" the wheels are - its a 2005 '55 CLK 270d Avantgarde with 5 spoke wheels and sports pack fitted.

Can sympathise. I've had my car since new and have had the (original) alloys replaced twice due to corrosion. The set I have now, surprisingly, are holding up quite well.

What MB used to do is to replace all wheels with a set that have already been refurbished. Yours then get sent off to be refurbished, to be used for a future customer. Think they must single-handedly keep Pristine in business

Watch out for wheel bolts as well, for they will rust too (MB should replace them under warranty too). Be prepared to be asked if you use a wheel cleaner, á la Wonder Wheels.

Quite appalling actually :(

I can only comment about my own experience and that is they replace each wheel for a new Mercedes-Benz one.

As you quite rightly pointed out they used to use Pristine, but this has now stopped and they are replacing them with their own brand.

Ah, good; that's a much better policy. But if they haven't cracked the corrosion problem (and I know that MB don't actually manufacture the wheels), then it's going to be a very expensive policy.

What, I wonder, do they do with the wheels they have replaced?

New MB policy was to replace them BUT I would not be surprised if they decided to change this policy to save further costs... Insist of brand new replacements. You should be ok.
