First time in about 7 weeks (since I got the Aston its sat in the garage) but it was a nice day and I always think cars need a run now and again so off to North Wales we went.

First thing that always impresses me is the ride, compared to the stiff CLS and the stupidly crashy DB9 the SL is a limo and it tracks straighter than either of them, roof down was a bit cold but the a/c needed a good blast as well so we had that on and ashamedly the seat heaters ;)

The coast road to Rhyl can be a nice run if the traffic isnt so bad and yesterday it was quite empty - in all it was very enjoyable but I have to remember to slow down on corners as the SL cant take corners like my daily drives but a mellower more relaxed drive is a good thing on occasion. Plus a soundtrack of pure 70`s and 80`s home recorded mix tapes was nostalgia personified (its the only tape deck I own) also its nice not being paranoid about parking (as I am in the DB9 and to a degree in the CLS) when stopping for a swift half or a bag of chips.

Im coming round to maybe keeping the SL as it owes me nothing and in all they are astonishing value. I wish the missus would use it but she is addicted to her Dodge  and wont change.

If it doesn't owe you anything, and it gives you something that the others cannot, and you don't need the money or space, then I think you have answered your own question!

I would recommend buying one of those battery conditioner devices so the car is always ready, and the battery will not deteriorate too much inbetween times.

A couple of weeks ago I reconnected the batteries in my E320 Coupé and Capri 2.8i after six months of dormancy. The former has a Bosch Silver 4.5 years old and the latter a Kwik-Fit 5 years old. Instant starting and no problems with either car, and the batteries had simply been disconnected and were not recharged or conditioned at all. Both cars were garaged.
