Evening all .Any advise on this would be welcome .My c 180 has been standing all day in the pooring rain .When i started to drive it there was a mass of water suddenly appear in the passenger footwell looks like it came via the heating duct .Is this normal ? sure it cant be is there anything to look for to avoid this again Oh before i forget it never does it when i wash the car Thanks in advance for your help.

Probabliy a blocked drain in the scuttle panel, where the blower motor draws air.

Yes take the covers off and clean all the crap out that will have gathered over the years.

Or it could be an incorrectly fitted pollen filter cover; though I offer this comment based on common reasons for water in the footwell, rather than based on knowledge of the C-class.

Was the passenger window fully closed?

Has it got a sunroof?
Had this once with a blocked drain pipe from the channels around a sunroof

No sunroof but thanks for your help
