What alternator does my car use?

The W124 320 cabriolet originally came with a 90 amp alternator. On that basis the lower rated 90a BOSCH listed by GSF will be fine. Notice these alternators are exchange units- they need your old one back before returning the surcharge included in the price. ----It may be easier to go to your local Bosch agent for an exchange unit? But check your existing one not a Valeo as the RECON EXCHANGE DEAL deal is usually like for like

What's wrong with your origional altermator? It was getting on for 10 years ago but i had the origional on my 320te rebuilt by my local battery & alternator specialists for not much more than £50. It popped a diode again last year and i bought a used Bosch off the bay for ~ £20 and slung that in because it was easier/faster

The one thing i'd never do is buy a new replacement from eurocrap or gsf, partly because they use their own in house part numbers making it next to impossible to work out exactly what they're selling from the site alone and partly because they're both usually one of the more expensive sources for a lot of stuff.

A0091540202 is an MB part number for Bosch remanufacturered/service exchange 90A alternators for various MBs including the m104 in various 124s according to https://www.catcar.info/ FWIW the Bosch number on the alternator that was in mine (no idea if it was the origional) was 0123 320 039. The one i bought from the bay last year was out of a later c320 IIRC
You need to trust whoever you buy from to get it right from the reg number or VIN or go by the part numbers on the knackered alternator

Vehicle parts is my business, You stated you require 90amp unit.

The Bosch number 0986038160 is the part you need, Hope this helps.

no idea how to check, car is at the garage and he said i can get the part myself

If it were me I'd get the garage to source the part. That way you have one throat to choke if a fault arises with in in future.
