What are all these wires in the back of my W211 wagon?

So.....

digging around in the back of our 2004 Canadian spec E320 wagon, and found five electrical connections that are presently not connected.

One white connector on its own; appears to have 4 wires. Then there's a tied-up bundle of four connectors: one blue, two black (one of which appears to be fibre optic) and one slim silver connector.

Sorry for the quality of the attached photos. I've tried downsizing larger JPEG files and, as you can surmise, I am not an expert.

Can anyone tell me what I have on my hands here?

Much appreciated!

These are all elements of the Navigation expansion. If you dont have a navigation drive installed then these cables will not be used.

There is a North America kit to upgrade your car and then these connectors will all be used.

Thanx, Miro.

The one thing I guess I would need to look into is whether the wagon has the GPS antenna already installed or not.

Am I correct that the GPS antenna for wagons is installed behind the instrument panel?

Stick an ohm-meter (multimeter in resistance mode) carefully on the contacts of that blue fakra connector - if its not open circuit, then the antenna is there

Eek... I feel like Homer Simpson all of a sudden: "I stick a what in the whozits now???"

Might be easier to see if the antenna is installed behind the instrument cluster, if that's where it's supposed to be...

When a car is prewired the installation includes all of the necessary parts. Otherwise your Teleaid would not work !

To activate the function you may have to do that whatchamacallit to the thingamibob in the howdydo

In USA cars there is always a GPS antenna. If the blue plug it is not connected to anything then the required GPS splitter will be in the upgrade package.

Actually, I'm not entirely sure that Teleaid is "standard" in my 2004 Cdn spec W211. The button's there, lit up and all, but I pushed it once and nothing happened...
