Hey ya'll it's servicing time of the year! So I'm curious to know what people's thoughts are of the dealerships in the West London/West of London areas (Berkshire/Buckinghamshire/Surrey) and where people have had good experiences.

I've used:
Temple Fortune - Bit far from me now but a perfectly ok experience, nothing special.
West London - Really nice experience overall but they did manage to scuff my car which I only realised afterwards when it becomes difficult to take it up with them 😬
Beaconsfield - Used them for a repair and while my experience was good, the way the service advisors spoke to some of the other customers and brought up swathes of issues to get their cars through MOT was very off putting. So I wouldn't go there for service.

Then there's Ascot which gets some mixed reviews? Slough which is nearby here in Windsor and Maidenhead and Brooklands which has a whole museum to browse while you wait??

I'm kind of tempted to go the Brooklands route this year and check out the museum unless people haven't had good experiences there? At least there's restaurants and things as well since I usually tend to wait rather than take a courtesy car. Google reviews tend to be mostly focused around purchase (or the museum experience in the case of Brooklands), which is the easy part to get right, I'm interested in the servicing which is where things go wrong 🤣

Bit of a boring Wednesday question but hey ho maybe I am boring 🙃
(Forgot to mention I have ServiceCare so sticking with the main dealers for now)

If you're not necessarily after a mercedes dealership then GLM Automotive in Dorking is the best of best but since you've got a service care plan, I reckon Brooklands should be good

TM Motors in Molesey are very good. I’ve seen all sorts in there from my old S212 to 300SL gullwings.

I had poor service from MB Temple Fortune about 15 years ago, and had exemplary service from Brooklands between 2017 and 2022 (while they were still owned by MB UK, and before the dealership was sold to the Chinese firm LSH Auto).

Booked for Brooklands 😎 The allure of a day out at the Mercedes museum while the car is being serviced is too good to pass up.

Didn’t think there was such a thing, as a favourite dealer, maybe a less terrible dealer, but not favourite, they’re not called “stealers” for nothing you know. 😆

Waste of money taking a 2016 car to a dealer, especially when you have Star Motor Service just down the road.

Well I may as well report back to you guys and yes this is a boring post but anyway 😂

Brooklands experience was ok. They were actually quite quick compared to other dealers and their own estimate, it took 2.5 hours for service + mot. The museum is very small though it's basically one and a bit floors, half of the main museum floor is more of a showroom. It's obviously WAY more interesting than just waiting around for your car but it's not large enough to keep you occupied for your entire time there. There's some cool bits though, SLR Stirling Moss, C63 Black Series, C111 and the F1 cars are very cool to see in person. If you wanted to pay for a driving experience and maybe have lunch then probably you could fill your time there.

My car came back in a STATE though. They obviously hadn't washed it (that's good though because I know they won't do a safe wash) but it was covered in black rubber scuff marks, some white substance dripped all over the rear bumper which thankfully came off easily, random bottle of screenwash (not even Mercedes summer/winter fit lol it was Wurth?) left in my doorbin which was almost full though so yay free screenwash? The black scuffs were the worst though and looked like I gained some new scratches in the paint with them :/ Dunno what the hell they're doing to the cars when they service them because this happened at West London as well, so that's the 2nd time in a row I've been given a car back with more scratches than it went in with. Irritating but they'll buff out. Not sure I'd go back though.

I’d recommend TM Motors in Molesey as an alternative (not a main dealer obviously). I’ve always been impressed with them. Good communication, always on time, a nice bunch. They also use very good quality paper for their invoices - to me shows their attention to detail. They also update the service record and give me a print out as well.

If you do use Brooklands again though, be sure to visit Bachmanns Patisserie in Weybridge. The Sachertorte will offset any disappointment from MB I guarantee!

Wayne Gates in Harrow when you tire of main dealers.

Service plan expires next year so after that it will be time to re-evaluate 🫡It's a pity though cos Mercedes World makes it a much more interesting experience than just waiting around with your laptop or taking a courtesy car home. But not if my tally of scratches keeps increasing every time 😅

When and what did you have done there?

I only ask as I used them a couple months back for a faulty seat pad sensor and thought the service was a bit unfriendly, not very helpful locating a part he couldn’t source and told me to go find it myself and bring it back for him to fit.
Then I was presented with an invoice for £160 for the diagnostics when I’d already told him the error code on my icarsoft… there was no mention of this diagnostic cost when I booked the car in or dropped it off.
Being new to MB maybe he assumed I knew of the diagnostic cost, but me being old school I was used to giving the car to a mechanic, telling him the problem and then he gives me a price to fix it… or not.
