Guys, I'm looking to change the bulbs in my fog lights as I'm swapping out a cracked fog light.

There's some confusion online to which bulbs the units are carrying, I'm getting a variety of fitment options: H7, HB4, H11

Sources:

Autobulbsdirect: HB4

Mercedes Dealer: H7/H11

Could someone confirm the exact fitment please? I would remove the bulb and have a look at it, but its a long hauled process of getting to the back of the fog light.

Ideally I'd like to order the lights prior to getting the fogs out.

That's the type of fog lights that I have:

Just checked, they just show a set of bulbs - no specifics to where they fit.

It's a H7

It looks different when you look at the back of the unit but definitely H7

Thanks Ted, funny enough - just come off the phone from MB Southampton, they're pretty sure its H11.

Just don't understand how difficult it could be to identify. I should take a close up pic of the bulb front, this should give a better idea. I presume H7's are slimmer than HB4?

Where have you ordered the foglamp from? if MB, then surely they can look for you or get it and have a look.

Alternatively, can check EPC if you have a VIN

I bought a second had fog light, no bulbs..

Got a VIN, whats EPC sorry?

EPC is MB's online Electronic Parts Catalogue

are you guys going to check it for me or is there a website?

5 minute job to get to the bulb

3 torx screws and a little panel drops down. Turn the bulb holder anticlockwise and it cones away with the bulb in. Note exactly the position of the wires on the bulb holder as you unlatch it as it will make it easier to locate when you put the bulb back. I needs to go back exactly right or water will get in.

You CAN do it by removing the front grille (3 torx) but you will need daintier fingers than I have.

I think I'll take the back route to it... :) yeah there are a few nuts & retaining clips holding the back panel, I'll be replacing one of the fog lights, just got to find a good day to do it on.

Does anyone know where I can get these retaining clips? good quality preferably, I've seen some on ebay, but don't want the falling apart...

Doh! You're right it is those clips that secure the panel underneath. Not torx screws.

Can't help with sourcing any I'm afraid.
