What car did you pass your driving test in?

Passed my test in a 1988 ford escort van whilst working for TNT skypack in dublin. Ireland. At the end of the test I radioed the conttoller on the vans radio and he said great got a pick up for you to do on the way back to the depot... :)

A 1997 Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.8D slowest thing I have ever driven but was easy to learn in. Was impossible to stall it.

One of these!!! Well, a right hand drive version….god that gearstick took some getting used to, but somehow I passed first time! Don't think I would pass first go these days - developed too many bad driving habits!

BSM Austin Metro in 1980.

A metallic green 1979 Mk 1 Golf GL. Registration GGF 450T. It's the only reg number I've ever remembered :)

Edit: sorry for the 'holy thread revival batman', thought I was looking at current threads, turns out it was old participated ones!

Can't remember the age of the car, but the company I used to learn with had a red Renault Clio diesel.

Vowed to never own a diesel since however, sadly they don't make unleaded V8 Navaras in this country. lol

1960's Ford Zodiac 6 cylinder in line
White / Green with 3 speed column gear change +
Leather bench front seat plus the awful vacuum wipers

Mini Metro. 1st car was a VW Golf C Formel E MUL774X about 3 years old at the time..

I learned in a Nissan Sunny 1.3GS

I passed in my Dad's Renault 21TS when my Driving Instructor told me I wasn't ready so couldn't use his car.

Still get a smug glow, 29 years on.

I learned in a Mk2 Ford Escort. Took (and passed) test in a Peugeot 504.

I passed in a Vauxhall Chevette. 1st car was a fully rebuilt Mini Cooper. I wish I still had that now it would be worth a few bob.

Learnt in a 1955 Austin A35 of mine, then passed in the instructors 1994 clio

Passed first time with no professional lessons in my fathers 1.6 MK3 Ford Cortina (Coke bottle style). That car and other fords of the day were very easy to drive and had a fabulously light gear change that would put many modern cars to shame.

Ford Escort RS 2000 Mk2
