what courtesy car?

I sympathise with you Portzy. I too lost a pet some time ago. You never get over it. Better to put them down rather than have them suffer, its a very hard thing. If you need any support PM me.

Sorry to hear about your puss. They become a real part of you and your life and leave such an incredible hole when they leave us.

I lost a cat a few years ago now and a proper snooty little thing she was - but the gap she left was immense. Chin up - think of the good times.

got the courtesy car, turned out it is a:

C200 Kompressor '04 plate with 2k on the clock.

seems pretty nippy but takes a sec for the supercharger to kick in.... prefer the instant ooomph of my V6.

Also after trying the tiptronic on the gearbox (my clk doesnt have this), i dont think i would ever use it....

pleased as i can now take a look at what features you get with newer instrument clusters and how the steering controls work ready for me fitting my new wheel & cluster in my CLK.

if anyone is interested, my car has gone in for:

fuel sender common problem
steering wheel isnt straight and pulls to left
claim on rust warrenty
any recalls that havnt been done on the car (if any)

hopefully the CLK will be much better drive once the steering is sorted

My local dealer books you a taxi to Harrogate, or work, or home if local etc and then contacts you and sends another taxi to bring you back. I think this is much better than all this loan car mallarky. Only like my own car anyway.

P.S. Had to have my pet cat, Jasper, put to sleep last night, 16.5 years but a bundle of fun until the last few days when he got really poorly with heart trouble. Fed Up

Is your dealer any good - I quite fancy a 'free' taxi ride to Harrogate! ;-)

I use my tiptronic quite a lot, anything more than traffic or motorway when I fancy a bit of spirited driving, great for changing into 3rd or 2nd approaching a roundabout, ready to fly off it or for country road driving.

When I take mine to my local indy he got a choice of a 260E or a 230T,a bit old but well maintained

Took my car into George Fraser's and got an SL to use for the day

I never used to use tiptronic till i discovered a little trick.

My stupid engine is programed to make the car hold onto the gears first thing in the morning to make the engine warm up and to protect the cat.

I personally couldnt give a stuff how long the cat lasts as the car is under warranty and all this extra revving is costing money in fuel. The car also holds onto gears too much as well.

When driving allong with the car in D with the tip box. If you push it to the right hand side you can make it change up :bannana: :bannana:
