I'm having a clear out which has reminded me of the considerable collection of CDs and DVDs which we never listen to.

What do you do with yours?

    Nothing.

I love having the physical media , I have a lovely CD player / dac / speaker combo and I love the act of 'putting a cd on' and sitting listening to it.

I have a nice monitor audio iPod dock too , but only for casual listening.

I have them all in a bookcase.

    I wish.
We keep all the original CDs/DVDs we listen to / watch, but I've ripped all the CDs so I never touch them and they sit in two CD racks in a spare bedroom. I keep them in case I need to rip them again or want to rip a song I've not done previously (I didn't just blindly rip every track - only the ones we both wanted) but your tastes change...

What we don't listen to or watch we will either sell on eBay if it seems to sell well, or we give them to charity.

I only recycle them if they are knackered for whatever reason (I save old discs, including data ones, and send them off for recycling).

Having uploaded/ripped everything, I gave them to friends. I also buy job lots of CD's, upload them and pass the CD's on as well.

Let me know if you intend selling, please.

I still play my old LPs...CDs are there for playing too. LPs still sound better than the CD equivalent, but, of course are far less convenient.

LP's & singles are in a cupboard in the garage. Deck needs attention & I need a bit of help with that as I lack the expertise.
Many of the LP's have been replaced with cd's or downloaded versions (sons are into "file sharing")
Many cd's are ripped to usb stick or ipod for car use, but in the house I tend to select the disc for play in a Denon mini system.
Never think of "disposing" of the originals
