What do you think of this folks? Dodgy seller?

Some of you on here know I’ve been looking at an older Merc recently to buy. A W203 or CLK diesel. I saw an advert for one … a .2.7Cdi with a private seller. 160k miles and MOT until 2022.
Only when I check the MOT history it is only MOT’d until December and the last MOT reads 166k miles so goodness knows what the true mileage is now.
So, I mention this and ask about service history. The response contains no info about service history. I ask when was the last service done. The response doesn’t mention servicing again, but says the car will “fly through its next MOT”
I say oh that sounds encouraging. If you are that confident in the car how about you get it MOT’d and if it does fly through I will pay for it. If it doesn’t you pay for it. Funnily enough he declined … He’s actually asking top money for the car and claims it’s brilliant. Won’t talk about servicing and the advert has both the wrong mileage and the wrong MOT information. I might be foolish thinking this could be anything other than an avoid situation, but thought you might enjoy the tale on this fine Sunday morning!

Jam pass it by, he sound like a good scamer . Just what i do, pop reg in to Honest Johns to see MOT history There are so many good cars out there.So never buy a car you cant inspect and look over .

C270CDI 53 plate, it does actually go like the wind, with a big black fart out her ****...
MOT is due next week, but if youre up for it let me know
milage is 108k genuine all the way back to when i bought it a year and a bit out of the factory
and i just found out from a helpful soul its a W203!

Be very careful buying a 203 or 209 of this age. Most are dying and maintained badly. Rust is a real issue. Get it inspected by a specialist before you buy it.

Good advice! Most are rusting and dying... so make sure you get it checked out if you are thinking of buying one
Or come and look at a prime example of one that's not rusting and dying!

thats cool. ive already got 2250 for it, which is way more than its worth so the pain of letting the old lady go is a bit easier!
