I didn't think of looking at AMG.

I didn't expect it to be cheap, the paint on our SL was expensive but it's a car we're keeping so I don't mind.

Painted calipers for the E Class at Euro 4600. That's a bit strong, there are entire carbon packs available for less than that.

Anyhow, there are no prices for bodywork paint it's all "price on request".

So JBD if I wanted to order a new E43 Estate in Designo Mystic Red, is it possible and how much?

It'll be astounding if it's cheaper or similar to paint the whole car Mystic Red than 4 calipers in Post Office Red.

JBD is there anywhere I can find a catalogue, menu or options for MB Designo options available to the UK market? With prices please.

"Mystic" paint options and prices, leather interior options and prices, that kind of thing.

In Germany there are "studios" where all the paint and interior options are available to view but it seems MB are generally not interested in pushing or marketing these options to the UK market, except in a very limited way.

I moan that colour choices are limited, interior and exterior. However I'm willing to pay for what I want, but finding information about Designo options is difficult here.

Is there even an internal (unpublished) price list for what's available to the UK market?

Dont forget you can use those German studios to design the exact UK car spec you want and have it delivered to the UK

Downside you have to go to Germany and pay in Euro although Im not sure thats a downside

You can spec an MB exactly how YOU want it not how MB dictate whats available for the UK market. Im going with SWMBO to Germany test driving and specing week after next if there is something we like I'll order it put the deposit on it and do the deal in Germany

Mystic Blue on our SL was £5,750.

The last quote I got for an E Estate for Mystic paint was 2 years ago for £4,500. When compared to the cost of painting 4 calipers that doesn't look so bad does it. Except when you then find out it's a $2,300 option in the USA.

I think it has little to do with what it actually costs to paint them and is based more on what MB think they can extract from you.

Of course no problem what interior as that could affect choices. Also I presume MB are going to release the 4 matic in RHD as that has been one of the previous showstoppers with 4 matic previously being available only on LHD cars

The new E43AMG is 4matic so it'll be the same spec as that with slightly less tune.

Something light inside, sand, beige or porcelain leather would look good, but not light grey, I've never been too keen on that for some reason.

No problem I've got a really good relationship with the dealer and AMG centre in Mannheim. Bought from them many times before.

12v Sockets in new C63s W205

As I wait for the new car to arrive I thought I'd buy a couple of dash cams to fit in preparation. As I don't have the car yet, two questions:

1. Where are the traditional 12v cig lighter sockets in the new 2016 model car.
2. An alternative is to use the use ports? Are there any in the glovebox?
3. Will the MB dealer fit the 2x Nextbase dash cams as a service before I pick up the new car?
