I've wired my dash cam to the supply for the light where the rear view mirror is.
Loads of power up there, and easy to get to. Doddle

As I wait for the new car to arrive I thought I'd buy a couple of dash cams to fit in preparation. As I don't have the car yet, two questions:

1. Where are the traditional 12v cig lighter sockets in the new 2016 model car.
2. An alternative is to use the use ports? Are there any in the glovebox?
3. Will the MB dealer fit the 2x Nextbase dash cams as a service before I pick up the new car?

The 12V socket is in the centre console and there's also one in the boot. There are two USB's inside the armrest.

You'd have to ask about the dash cam. It is something we have done, but it's down to the dealer you use

I've got a Blackvue 650 front/rear which is hooked up to the fuse panel next to driver's door. The 12v cig lighter and USB ports in the centre console were a PITA to get to and require taking quite a bit of the centre console apart to make cable management look neat.

I've also read about other set ups which use the fuse panel in the boot.

The dealer has just called me to tell me my car will arrive at their dealership today. I asked for a date I can come and pick it up but her response wasnt quite convincing. Basically they have sent me a bunch of PDFs to sign and post back to them with my original licence.

I said I would rather come on site and do everything over there but if I understand her correctly She basically wants me to sign the paperwork, post with my licence by special delivery, transfer my deposit to their accout, travel 150 miles to the dealership sometime next week to re-sign the paperwork, go back home and then await the delivery of the car.

This sounds not only odd to me but ridiculous.

Is this normal practice?

I have 3 questions that would be great if you could answer as no one seems to know or be able to give me a straight answer..

I have a C43 on order and would like to know the following

1. There seems to be an issue with road noise on the W205 and S205, is it possible to specify laminated glass from the factory from the UK? If there is an issue and the laminated does work do you know what the order code is?

2. I have ordered the black leather and red stitch interior with the red seat belts, is it possible to order the car with black seat belts instead from the UK?

3. Final question, on the estate with the panoramic roof - is the whole roof black or just the glass panels and the metal surrounding it is the same colour as the car?

There's no laminated glass option at all. I wasn't aware that there was a road noise issue to be fair

I don't believe there is a red seatbelt delete option, I know you can on the SLC, but I haven't seen it on this.

The whole roof if black, minus top of the boot lid/ spoiler

Fed Up with my MB.

Got an E250 Coupe 2011 (c207) a few weeks ago and I am absolutely fed up with it. All I want to do is play my music through the audio 50 aps system and have up to date maps, can I do either NO!!
Took it to local MB dealer, gave them £100 of my hard earned cash and yes they did upgrade my maps, all the way up to 2013 edition, useless.
Have purchased and connected MB cables to the Media Interface socket and connected various phones and iPods and non are compatible.
I give up, going to get my poxy Megan back, at least it was more up to date as far as Bluetooth, media streaming etc. was concerned.

In my 205 with audio 20 I used to be able to swipe up with 2 fingers on the touchpad to bring up a quick access menu, if you then swiped down with 1 finger, it brought up a further sub menu. It's in the owners manual, but it no longer works. Any chance you could ask if it's either a fault with my system (software updated at service B yesterday) or been removed please fella.
The 2 finger swipe up works and you get the first menu, but the second function seems to have gone. It was really handy!

My car appears to have been delayed according to the dealer (via Pendragon) - they are blaming a '**** up' at the port - are you able to see if or when it will now be at the dealership please - I am not convinced that they are being totally honest....

There's nothing that I have seen yet. There has been talk of it not being replaced at all

Maybe this is why the very rude sales lady has not been straightforward with her answers.

All she had to do was explain this to me. She told me I had to send signed paperwork and licence by special delivery, then come into their dealership 200 miles away to re-sign the paperwork, go back home 200 miles and await delivery of my car. She wouldnt even provide the consignment number so I could track the car. She rudely asked me 'what do you need it for'

So ridiculous. Its been 5 months since I ordered the car and with the treatment I have received from the dealer, I have lost all interest in the car. I'll be ordering my next car direct from the dealer. With this nasty experience, I'd gladly pay more to experience professional service.
