Hi guys quick question what engine oil should I get for my V8???I have around 87K on clock

1.Castrol Edge FST fully synthetic 5W30
2.Castrol Edge Titanium FST fully synthetic 0W30
3.Genuine Mercedes Benz 5W30 Low Ash SAPS Engine Oil MB229.51 Fully Synthetic

or maybe something else???
Please advise:)

My local dealer (Manchester) did 5 litres of 229.51 5w30 for £19.99 last week. I just enquired on the phone and went to collect it the day after.

Have you asked your local Main Dealer for a price on the Genuine Mercedes Benz 5W30 Low Ash SAPS Engine Oil MB229.51 Fully Synthetic?

They may be competitive on total price as P&P has to be added to the ebay offer, making it £36.91 for 7 litres.

Strange that they say they are a commercial dealer, did you click on the Visit Our eBay Shop: Mercedes and Smart Newcastle link in their ad, as they list car parts and have the same oil, at the same price, listed on there.

I'm sure Olly (BlackC55) wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't compatible with your engine. He is a very knowledgeable Mercedes Specialist.

For future reference here is a link to the list of all 229.51 MB-Approved (Low ash SAPS) oils. MB 229.51 - Low SPAsh multigrade service engine oils (Specification 229.51) - Mercedes-Benz Specifications for Operating Fluids

^ Echo this. My main dealer will always price-match on oils. Had some great deals from my local factor for Valvoline but Merc will match and even beat it if they can.
