The Fox?

The guy on here who had a stroke two or three years ago I think - his partner used his ID to tell us what was going on.

Any Vauxhall I ever owned needed a engine rebuild after 60000 mls , but they have come a long way since then. The new Astra is a lovely looking car

Maybe I’m too nostalgic, but I always find it a little bit sad when formerly active members drift away from the forum, sometimes think we could do with the opposite to the “new members introduction” section with a “old members leaving” section as a sort of mirror.

Or like me they could just hang around, even though their Mercedes was two cars ago.....(and missed!)

Good thread :)

My first usable car was a white J-reg 2-door Viva HC 1100 ... my mates all had Escorts but it was at least a match for them (and you couldn't unlock the doors on the Viva with a lolly stick :D). Then I had a 4-door 1800 Viva HC in the metallic burgundy mentioned before - that was a really nice car. The canted engine was a bit of a pig to work on though.

Later on I had a Cavalier 2-door Coupe (1.9) which was fantastic and much better looking than the more common hatchback. Really enjoyed that - it had a roll hoop built into the roof which was quite  Went well and never let me down.

The last Vauxhall I had was a Sintra 2.2 people carrier. That got absolutely slated but I had no problems at all with mine - reliable, quite quick, handled well.

I had a Cavalier 5-door SRI and it was a cracker of a car. I remember once leaving Horseguards Parade at about 10pm and arriving at my local in Ringwood, Hants in time for last orders :eek::eek::eek:

Yes, she went really well......................nice Recaro seats too.

I lived in Woking some years back and my neighbour worked shifts in Uxbridge. When he was on nights he used to do the trip in some ridiculously quick time in his Cavalier SRi ... this was before the speed cameras on the M25. He was a police officer so wasn't too worried about being pulled over ... things are undoubtedly a bit different now!
