    old car reviews?

There are hundreds upon hundreds of NEW car reviews by hundreds of on-line magazines for all the cars out there just now. What has happened to such items from 10-12 years ago?

The only answer that i could come up with was ... It so long ago that on-line reviews didn't exist. ??

    Thoughts on a postcard please...

They remain on the printed pages of magazines, on the shelves of folk like us...
I'm not sure what you mean?

    Electronic copies of car reviews.

Not photocopies of a magazine but actual original computer based reviews that would have been on-line 10 years ago.

    Ah.
Dependent on the publisher, they may have been archived to tape or optical media, or even still on a server somewhere. Just because hosting expires, doesn't mean to say the offline copy has been destroyed.

The reason i ask is that there were very few original car reviews of the car i ended up buying other than user entered ones on Parkers or generic ones on Honest John.... i just figured there would be reviews of the cars when they were actually released from Autocar/CAR magazine etc....

    ho hum.

I'm surprised that more stuff hasn't been scanned and is on line.. I'm guessing there are copyright issues for sites like this to host them - or are there?

For example, I've just acquired a 1991 brochure for the C124 range (in mint condition for a whole £6) and was thinking of scanning and posting it on here as PDF attachment - would that be an issue?

Lots of peeps on here seem to have access to old Autocar etc. reviews, I'd certainly like to read contemporary reviews of my car.

ebay may be your best bet - old copies of autocar etc etc.

I have just bought a dealer w124 estate brochure from ebay. From 1992 i think. It hasnt arrived yet, but i'll scan it in and host it if people are interested?
